In 2018, Starlight Theatre Director, Chris Brady, partnered with the Rock Valley College Foundation to launch the “Save Our Sound Campaign” to replace the historic theater’s failing sound system. The current sound system has long surpassed its life expectancy and the patron experience has been suffering as a result. To date, the campaign has raised $180,000 of the $220,000 goal.
Recently, Starlight Theatre received a generous gift in the form of a matching challenge gift from an anonymous donor. After hearing there was only $40,000 left to achieve the campaign goal, the donor offered to match every dollar given up to $20,000 by the end of Starlight’s summer season (8-10-19).
The campaign will continue through December 31, but the opportunity to have your gift matched expires August 10. If you are interested in contributing to the campaign, you can make your gift securely by visiting RVCDonate.com.
