For composing email, it would be easier for me if I could just type an email address into the "TO" line/box instead of having sort by classes and selecting people. I would also like it if professors were required to post grades on EAGLE, since that is partly what it is for. Most of my profs do not, which means I have to either ask them (and often get a very general answer) or try to calculate it myself (which is hard if we do not get to keep our tests or the professor only writes "A" on the paper instead of saying 95/100).

I liked the feature in EdNet that allowed you to just start typing a person's name in the email "to" box instead of having to wait for it to search the names and click the "To" button and then Ok, all just to send a quick email

The gradebook is very non-user friendly for both students and staff.

I'd like to see it where the students, when they first enter the course, find their grades listed not as an overall % by category, but within the grid (name of assignment & points/percent awarded).

For faculty, somehow make it easier to work through. I'd like to have a column where it calculates each student's grade & a report doesn't have to be run.

Link our email accounts to our Eagle Accounts. It does not make sense to check both emails daily.  There is no way that I could possibly check 4 total emails every single day.  This results in a significant lost of information and is very confusing.

I would like to be able to e-mail other Professors that are not currently my teachers from Eagle. There is not a way (that I have figured out) to do so at this time. If I am trying to enter a class and I need an overload or special permission I have to use my home account. It will be easier for me and the Professor to communicate through Eagle, rather than personal e-mail. Thank you.

RVC Eagle sends an email alert to the recipient's RVC/Gmail account which is nice. However, I think it would be excellent if an additional email address could be added to the alert, or perhaps even a mobile phone text for Eagle messages. Any way to streamline communication and minimizes special internet log-ins is wonderful in my book.

Thank you.

EAGLE had alot of bugs with it earlier in the semester causes confusion on turn on assignments.  I believe EAGLE somehow lost multiple assignments earlier in the semester in my Eng 101 course.  I am not the only person to have complained of this problem.  I would find it helpful if the system had some sort of conformation system through the system EAGLE to confirm when you do submit anything over EAGLE. I don't think this would use up an insane amount of Bandwith and is very do-able.

This is more a complaint then an improvement.  It is my understanding that if you are on a waitlist that you are suppose to get an email when your name comes up and then you have three days to sign up.  I got on a waitlist for a spring class, I was allowed to register the second day, this class was already filled.  I was third on the list I checked my email everyday.  I never got a notice.  I just happened to check the tab for managing my waitlist and I was no longer on the waitlist.  This is not the first time this has happened to me for a class. This is extremely frustrating.  I am now 37 on the list, normally I would show up to class anyway, however, this is an internet course and this is not possible.  Something needs to be done about this or they need to get rid of the waitlists and go back to how it use to be handled.

I extremely disagree with the requirement to go to the Student Center to confirm i.d. in order to receive a new password to log on to Eagle!!! For those who do not live across the street and don't have access to a car, this is unfair.  I was in an accident two weeks ago and my car has been out of commission since.  Those not allowing me between work and class, to be able to come to the student center during open hours.  I do not have immediate and constant access to a car right now.  Thus, I am unable to retreive my homework assignments.  I wish to contact someone immediately about this!

I think the main thing that needs to be changed is the lack of training for teachers in regards to Eagle. I beleive that it could be an extremely useful tool for teachers, but a lot of them do not know how to get a task done using Eagle. For instance, a teacher of mine has not been able to use the grading portion of Eagle because he has no idea how to input them. This is my second semester with him and he is still unable to utilize Eagle. In fact the only teacher I have that uses it to its full potential is a web development / programming instructor. I find that my professors would love to use Eagles capability but are simply unable to. Please have training sessions for faculty and perhaps volunteers to go out and train professors to do the tasks they want to do. Thank you for reading my message!

I actually love Eagle and how much you can do with it.  My issue is how many teachers simply choose not to use it.  I don't know if they are just comfortable with their own websites or spreadsheets, but in most situations, I have been under the impression that Eagle would be a better tool for the student.

Any future plans to support Google's Chrome browser officially. I have been using EAGLE with Chrome and had no problems yet. Not surprising, as I think Chrome is in part built atop some of Mozilla's code, or at least it once was. I switched from Firefox over a year ago and have not looked back. Installing chrome on linux distros is painless and usually comes with Flash right out of the box. As far as privacy goes I am not too worried. Google probably knows all there is to know about me by now anyway. The other day I was using G-Mail and it reminded me I forgot to attach a file before sending because I had typed the word attachment in the message, lol.

For student logins and sessions, all data is transmitted in clear text.  All information is transmited in all clear readable text. The same is true for all session data like email. scheducles, add or drop classes, financial aid issues, view your grades etc...

It seems to me it should all be ssl or https (secukred) not http (unsecured). Just like your bank account data thats online.

If not, then Google Chrome. Firefox constantly fails and shuts off. I think its time to get up to date with whats on the market, especially for internet courses.

I think EAGLE mail and RVC mail should be combined so that you receive all emails in one place, or EAGLE should have the option to combine mailboxes. Also, there should be an option that when a class has new 'tasks', you can be notified via the email account of your choice. Finally, it would be great to have safari as a compatible browser!

Thank you for asking for our opinions,

My biggest issue with eagle is that there needs to be a way to access all courses from any page, not just the home page

In Addition, when having "group folders" under the communicate tab, the bread crumb trail wont take you the the previous screen, it takes you abck to the the beginning, which can be annoying.

I don't know if there is a way to fix this, but it would be an interesting and helpful change.

When I log out of Eagle and press the OK button, what I personally think is an unnecessary step, and then it tells me that I have logged out. Then as I type in a URL, the site changes to Eagle login screen and I it deletes the URL that I have been typing in.

I clicked the log out button so I know I want to log out. I clicked the OK button that I logged out and then you send me a window that I logged out and then you put me on the logged out page. I think it would be better to click the log out button and then log me out and send me straight to the home page. If someone accidentally clicks the log out button, it is less work to log back in than it is to log out confirm it and then go to the home page and lose the URL that I was typing.

-Having only 10mb of file storage space in 2011 is ridiculous. 100mb of storage space should be the bare minimum.
-When you upload a file with the same file name as a file you have already uploaded, Eagle automatically overwrites the file that is already there. A confirmation would be nice.
-When you upload a file with spaces in the file name Eagle replaces the spaces with underscores. This is highly annoying.
-Often times when you open a link in Eagle in a new tab, the tab you previously had open becomes inactive. Allow having more than one tab of Eagle open at a time.
-Allow the removal of certain entries in the "My Announcements" pane.
-Increase the amount of time Eagle stays logged in. It is annoying to go back to Eagle and find it has logged me out.

I personally love eagle but it does have a few minor flaws. For instance not very many of my teachers post grades on eagle which is quite irritating considering they are told to do it. Second off, the orientation that I was told I needed to do is no anything that pertains to me. So I called eagle support and they were very unhelpful on whether or not I truely needed to take it. So I guess what I am saying is that I personally feel that eagle could be improved by making sure teachers actually use it and that it is a tad more specific on its announcements that are posted.

In the Course Calendar nugget the information is displayed for the current callendar week.  So items that are due early in the week don't display until early in that same week, possibly catching students off guard.  It would be nice if it could display a 7-day period starting with the current date.
Also regarding the Course Calendar nugget, the weekday (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) are displayed, but not the dates.  Therefore, for example, Today is Friday and my course's Course Calendar nugget displays Tuesday and Thursday events, but nothing to indicate that they are the past Tuesday and Thursday.  It would be more meaningful if it were showing the upcoming events with days/dates.

I would scrap the entire EAGLE system as a whole. As a new student at RVC, I've heard nothing but complaints about EAGLE, from both students and faculty. The interface is not intuitive, and the layout is awkward. I know of at least one student in each of my classes that can't even get log on to EAGLE, or are having issues using it. The compatability with different internet browers is terrible. Beyond all of the obvious issues with the program, EAGLE is also completely unnecessary and redundant. Every service that EAGLE provides could be handled by professors during class, or by students while on campus for their classes. The only purpose I can see for EAGLE is to aid students taking on-line classes. Beyond that, I don't even understand why RVC uses EAGLE. EAGLE does not simplify a single thing, it only serves to complicate a process that should be very simple. This is illustrated by the abundance of information RVC dedicates to helping users of EAGLE. Their are videos, help labs, support services, I even had to take a test before I could use EAGLE. If it is this complicated to use your learning management system, there is something wrong. In my humble opinion, EAGLE should be trashed, or maybe RVC should consider other options for a learning management system. If RVC were to utilise EAGLE in the future, I would suggest a major overhaul.

It wasnt anything that had to do with my computer as its brand new but problems with the drop box itself. Im not sure why by in one instance it almost cost me a grade because the Professor never saw my work after I had sent it twice. So I had to email him a copy and then submit 2 hard copies. Alot of extra work for something that wasn't my fault. Hoping for a easier semester when having to submit papers this way on Eagle. Buy a new system. I am not the most tech-savvy guy in the world, but this is the most cumbersome and non-user-friendly system I have ever used! That and the fact that it takes so long to get any answers other than "Oh, you'll figure it out"...as a new adjunct, I feel less than welcome by this system and the lack of help from the tech. department. Even they say that this system is very cumbersome. Mpore than a little displease with RVC on this account!

I am new to RVC Eagle.  Please tell me what my user name is, how do I get an account and what my RVC student email address is.  I am a part-time, credit student and haven't taken a class at RVC for two years.  Thanks!
