Elevate Youth GED Program

Elevate GED Youth program


Elevate is designed to provide educational, career, and support services to youth between the ages of 16-24 who may have a barrier that is preventing them from completing their high school diploma, High School Equivalency certificate, or finding employment.

Information and Assessment Sessions 
 

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 to 4 p.m. at 303 N. Main Street, Rockford Room 103
  • Wednesdays  10 a.m. to noon at 303 N. Main Street, Rockford Room 103
     

Serving Winnebago and Boone County


We assist youth in overcoming barriers to employment that might include:

  • Lacking skills to obtain high school diploma, high school equivalency certificate
  • Low Income
  • Homelessness
  • Involvement with the judicial system
  • Transportation barriers


Services We Provide
 

  • Cash incentives
  • High School Equivalency classes at multiple locations
  • Childcare while attending classes
  • After-school tutoring for those enrolled in high school
  • Career Readiness
  • Career Assessment testing
  • Job search and college enrollment
     

The Workforce Connection

The Workforce Connection's Elevate Program is cooperatively delivered by the RVC Employment and Grants Division, the YMCA of Rock River Valley, RVC Adult Education Division, and Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois . Funding for the program is provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
